The confusion came from the fact that Digium tried to explain it to
everyone; which was a mistake. Basically that FXO ports signal with FXS
signalling (duh, they talk to FXO ports), and FXO ports talk with FXS
signalling.

However that is more than you need to know.. All you need to know is that
you attach Phones or (S)tations to FXS lines and you attach phone lines to
FXO Ports.
